Chapter History
The Gamma Kappa chapter of Phi Mu Fraternity was founded at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 1968. We were the first social sorority on campus, holding our first organizational meeting on October 18, 1966 when UNC Wilmington was known as Wilmington College. Since the women of Phi Mu were very well organized, earning their charter happened rather quickly. After meeting some requirements, on May 18, 1968 they were installed as the Gamma Kappa Chapter of Phi Mu. This makes us the first national sorority on UNC Wilmington's campus.
